Uhyggelige Jack-O'-Lanterns

The moonlit glow in the scene is exactly what drew me in, and painting those little pumpkins together with my kids made for a perfect rainy afternoon. We doubled the number of pumpkins and gave each one a silly face, and the finished piece looks fantastic on our mantel.

The pumpkins are so much fun to customize—I kept adding more and carving them differently each time. The moonlight and leaf details make it feel genuinely spooky without being too difficult.

The moonlit background and fallen leaves give this scene a genuinely spooky vibe, and I love that I can add extra pumpkins to the huddle to make it feel like a real pumpkin patch. Finished it in one rainy afternoon and it’s now hanging in my hallway.
