Lac au coucher du soleil

I bought two of these so my sister and I could paint side-by-side, and lining up the horizon lines on the canvases was surprisingly easy. The thick brushstroke style hides my shaky hand completely, so the finished piece actually looks like a real painting.

The brushstroke style made me feel like a real artist even though I’ve only picked up a brush a few times—the texture and color blending just work. I set the two canvas panels up on the kitchen table with my sister, and lining up the horizon line was honestly the easiest part. We finished in one eve

I’m not much of a painter, but the brushstroke style makes every swipe look intentional, like I actually knew what I was doing. My friend and I lined up the canvases and the horizon matched perfectly, which made the whole session feel collaborative rather than chaotic.
