The jagged path and creaky door details really pull you into the scene, and the instructions for adding that extra spooky shadow effect are so clear my kid nailed it on the first try. We had a blast painting the upstairs window even though the prompt warns you not to go there.

The jagged path and creaking door gave my kid such a fun thrill, and the instructions for adding spooky shadows were surprisingly easy to follow. It took us an evening to finish, and the upstairs warning actually made her giggle every time she painted near it.

My 8-year-old was actually nervous painting the upstairs windows because the kit makes the whole scene feel so moody and mysterious. The paint guides are clear enough that she did it mostly on her own, and the spooky atmosphere really comes through in the finished piece.
