Discover what's inside the Where The Heart Is wood sign kit and learn how to paint a flawless wreath and lettering. This buying guide explains what to expect and how to decide if it's right for you.
Quick answer
The Where The Heart Is wood sign kit includes a framed 18" x 7" wood sign, paints, and a tutorial that reveals the secret to flawless lettering and painting a timeless green wreath. It's a solid choice if you want a guided, beginner-friendly project with a rustic home decor result.
What to expect from the kit contents
The kit comes with a pre-framed wood sign, paints, and access to a sample tutorial that walks you through the wreath and lettering. You won't need to source extra materials for the core design, but you may want your own brushes or a sealant if you plan to display it outdoors.
The trade-off: guided vs. freeform
The tutorial teaches a specific wreath and lettering style. If you prefer to improvise or use your own colors, the kit still provides a quality wood surface, but you might not use the included paint set. For beginners, the guided approach reduces guesswork; for experienced crafters, it may feel restrictive.
How to decide if this kit is right for you
- Your skill level: If you're new to DIY wood signs, the tutorial's lettering and wreath instructions reduce the learning curve. If you're experienced, you might find the preset design limits creative freedom. Beginners will benefit most from the guided approach.
- Your decor style: The 'Where The Heart Is' sentiment and green wreath suit farmhouse, rustic, or cozy traditional interiors. It may feel out of place in ultra-modern or minimalist spaces. Check if the design matches your existing decor before buying.
- Display location: The wood sign is 18" x 7" and framed. It's designed for indoor wall display. The kit does not include weatherproofing, so avoid placing it in humid or outdoor areas without adding a sealant. Plan to display it indoors or treat the surface for outdoor use.
