The snowy evergreen background made it easy to stay in the lines even with a glass of wine in my hand, and the two cardinals came out looking like they’re actually chatting with each other. My partner and I split the canvas down the middle and it was fun to see how our styles blended at the finish.

The red cardinals really pop against that snowy evergreen, and the berry branches gave me just enough detail to stay engaged without getting frustrated. I tacked it up on a spare easel and painted solo over two evenings, and the finished piece already has a spot in our living room.
